Venue Review: Baby Polka Dot, Pasadena, CA

Baby Polka Dot

For those who have kids may noticed playground is probably one of the favorite places that kids love to stick with no matter what day and time. So today I am going to pick one of my kid’s favorite playground and give my own review.

Baby Polka Dot, an indoor playground locating at the old town Pasadena, is one of the places that I spent most of my time during the weekend with my kid. It is a nice place to have a play date and meet some of new baby friends.

Admissions
The price is also very reasonable and affordable. $10 per visit or you can purchase a monthly pass for $38 with unlimited entries. So if you are planning to go at least once or twice a week, this is what you should get.

For the admission, one ticket per kid per entry and you can bring as many adult as you want. Inside the playground, everyone needs to wear socks or you can purchase a pair from there for $2. Their operating hours is from 10am – 6pm unless they have a private party. Otherwise, it is free to go during the regular hours. I will highly recommend to check the store schedule from their website before you go or just call in and ask to make sure if they are open to the public for the day that you are planning to go.

Facilities
The facility is around 2000 sq ft divided into few sections, a small ball pool and a big jump house occupy at the end of one side. Others facilities such as slides, swings and Tarzan ropes, climbing wall etc. The equipment are looks quite clean compare to other playground that I have been to. The place is also bright with lots of windows. Overall I am satisfy with the spot.

Another good thing about this place is they have plenty of tables, benches and some high chairs as well. Giving the parents some spots to enjoy their lunch and snacks with their kids. They also have a small room with microwave which is another good idea for us as a parent to heat up some food for the kids.

According to Polkdot’s website, their toys replaced every 2-3 months to create a unique playspace for children and keeping sparkling clean with all natural and organic products. The place is for children up to 8 years old.

Parking
Parking is underground shared with the same parking lot with El Paseo Mall on Colorado. Free 90 minutes parking with validation but most of the time the parking is packed and from my experience, usually takes 15-20 minutes to find a spot. This is one thing that I don’t like this parking.

Customer Service
This is the only thing that I don’t really like about this place. I have been to this place so many times and they have about 4-5 girls taking shifts for the positions. As a customer, I don’t see they are welcoming anybody who is entering the place. No one greed to the customers. Most of the time you will see them playing with their cell phone. If you got a chance to ask them any questions, you will see how bad they response to you with attitude, making you feel like you are bothering them. Their customer service is really ruin the image of the company and I am pretty sure that makes at least some fractions of customers not coming back. Seriously!

Final Thought
Overall, I am quite satisfy with this playground that can give us a safe spot to play with my kid and also give my kid a place to socialize and make some new baby friends. I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends that have kids.

I have captured some images from their website for you to take a quick look of this place.
